David Livingstone Museum

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The David Livingstone Centre is a museum in Scotland dedicated to the work of the Scottish explorer and missionary David Livingstone. It is built in the former mill buildings which once housed 24 families (including Livingstone's), has been transformed into an exciting and lively award winning museum. It depicts Livingstones life from his early childhood working in the cotton mills of Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, to his African adventures. These are dramatically illustrated with the aid of various pieces of his navigational and medical equipment, interspersed with African artefacts.

The museum is located at 165 Station Road, Blantyre, about 10 miles south of Glasgow, Scotland, and the train station in Blantyre is about 10 minutes walk from the museum.
