David Legler

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Legler was a contestant on the television game show Twenty-One between February 9, 2000 and February 16, 2000. He won six consecutive rounds of Twenty-One and amassed a grand total of $1,765,000 in winnings. He held the title of highest game show winner for 14 months, later to be defeated by Who Wants to Be a Millionaire contestant Kevin Olmstead during a special airing of Mega Millionaire in 2001.

At the time of Olmstead's win, Legler's total placed him second in all time game show winnings. He was passed by Ed Toutant later in 2001, knocking him back to third, and the recent big wins by Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter on Jeopardy! have knocked him into fifth place on the list.

Legler passed Curtis Warren to break the record (Warren having won $1,410,000 on Greed only a few days before Legler's big win).
