[edit] Career

In his career, LaBruyere has played bass guitar and participated in musical groups such as John Mayer, Vigilantes of Love (with Bill Mallonee), Sugarland and David Ryan Harris.

LaBruyere co-wrote "Homelife" with John Mayer which first appeared on Mayer's second studio album Heavier Things (and also appeared on Heavier Things's follow-up live album As/Is). LaBruyere was one of the three producers of Mayer's Indie EP release Inside Wants Out.

He co-wrote the song "Tennessee" with Kristian Bush and Kristen Hall of country music trio Sugarland for their debut studio album Twice the Speed of Life.

As of 2007, LaBruyere is playing bass guitar for both Mayer and Harris in live performances.

[edit] Farrago Dance Mix

Main article: Farrago Dance Mix

In 2000, LaBruyere began writing and recording his own EP Farrago Dance Mix but due to his other commitments to touring with Mayer, his own release took a backseat. This changed in 2006 while Mayer was putting together Continuum, the first of Mayer's releases that LaBruyere wasn't called upon to play bass, as Mayer had veteran bassist Pino Palladino play. With the extra time he had, LaBruyere decided to focus his energies on completing the long-shelved Dance Mix. This album finally came to fruition and was released in early 2007. The 8 song EP features the song "Broken Time" with Mayer as vocalist. Other than "Broken Time", Farrago Dance Mix is an instrumental album.

[edit] Personal life

LaBruyere is a humanitarian and a charity donor. In particular, he expresses his interest in the restoration of New Orleans after the city's tragedy.
