David Kool

David Anderson Kool (born September 23, 1987 in Battle Creek, Michigan) is a collegiate basketball player currently playing for the Western Michigan Broncos. He is six feet three inches tall and weighs approximately 210 lbs.

Kool is a graduate of Grand Rapids South Christian High School where he was a four-year letter winner. He also played soccer, track, and was a placekicker for his school's football team his freshman and sophomore years. He helped lead his school's basketball team to state championships in 2003 and 2005, respectively. During his senior year, Kool was given the honor of being 2006 Mr. Basketball of Michigan. Other accolades he acquired include Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan First Team All-State, Associated Press First Team All-State, Detroit News and Detroit Free Press First Team All-State, Grand Rapids Press Dream Team First Team, and High School Athlete of the Year honors by the March of Dimes all during his senior year.

He is presently a freshman guard for the Broncos of Western Michigan University, wearing number 23. Kool rode the bench for the first few games of the Bronco's 2006-07 campaign due to a leg injury, but soon was getting minutes and drawing alot of attention. Kool quickly became the Bronco's starting guard, comfortable playing both point and shooting. Kool was the MAC's leading freshman scorer, averaging 11.2 points per game, and was fourth nationally in free throw percentage, nailing 93% of his attempts. At the conclusion of the regular season, Kool was named the MAC's Freshman of the Year.
