David Kim is an internationally renowned violinist. He was born in Carbondale, Illinois in 1971. He was the only American to capture a prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1986. He has been the concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the best orchestras in the world, since 1999. Mr. Kim is an active soloist, performing with orchestras in Dallas, Pittsburgh, Korea, Moscow, and many more. Every season, he soloes with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He is also active in helping children in music, and frequently works with them.
