David Keenan

David Keenan is a Scottish writer and musician. He is the author of England's Hidden Reverse]], a biography of Coil, Current 93 and Nurse With Wound, a regular contributor to The Wire, and proprietor of Volcanic Tongue, a shop, distributor, record label and mailorder service. He also curates the Subcurrent festival, held annually in Glasgow. In 2005 he was the creative consultant for the Instal festival, having retired from a similar position with Stirling's Le Weekend festival after a 5 year tenure.

Keenen was a founding member of both 18 Wheeler and Telstar Ponies. He is presently a mamber of Taurpis Tula alongside Heather Leigh Murray and Alex Neilson (collaborator with Jandek, Will Oldham and Richard Youngs) as well as playing with Neilson as Tight Meat Duo, who occasionally expand to a trio with the addition of bassist George Lyle; the Trio incarnation recently performed a live session for BBC Radio Scotland and the Duo are touring the UK in March 2007.
