David Herter

David Herter is an American author. His first novel was Ceres Storm in 2000, which was chosen as one of the top 10 science fiction books of 2000 by Amazon.com, followed by Evening's Empire in 2002. On the Overgrown Path, a dark fantasy novella about the Czech composer Leoš Janáček, was published in 2006 by P.S. Publishing, with an introduction by John Clute; a sequel, The Luminous Depths, is scheduled for 2007. One Who Disappeared completes the trilogy. All three volumes -- along with interstitial material starring Franz Kafka and Max Brod -- form a single novel, The Obstinates, a dark fantasy about Czechoslovakia Between the Wars as seen through the eyes of its artists. Also in the works is an epic novel set in 1977 American suburbia, and Fiery Angels, a planetary romance.
He lives in Seattle, Washington, where he attended the Clarion West writing workshop.
