David Hart (born February 6, 1954 in Marianna Florida) is an American actor, best known for playing Sgt. Parker Williams on the television series In the Heat of the Night.

His father Lloyd encouraged him to become an actor after seeing him in a high school play.

He is married and has three children. He is a Christian and donates his time to various charitable organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
