David Fairbank White

David Fairbank White, American author and journalist, was born on January 30, 1951, in Paris, France. His father was the journalist and historian Theodore White. White spent most of his childhood in New York City, and attended The St. Bernard's School and Milton Academy. After graduating from Harvard College with a degree in American History, White went on to work for The New York Times, The Journal of Commerce, and as a freelance journalist.
White is the author of two books. The first, a novel, True Bearing, was published in 1980. The second, Bitter Ocean: The Battle of the Atlantic, 1939-1945, was published in May 2006 by Simon & Schuster. Bitter Ocean was also released in Britain in May 2006 by Hodder Headline. The book is slated for mass-market paperback release in both Britain and America in the spring of 2007.
White lives in New York City with his family.
