David D. Sharp

A native of Tampa, Florida, Chamberlain High School graduate (class of '84) and radio broadcaster since 1978. His career started at college station WASU-FM in Boone, North Carolina. While at WASU, David started as a street reporter, covering town council meetings, then by age 13, was anchoring local newscasts and doing occasional airshifts. He moved back to Tampa in 1980, working at a host of commercial and non-commercial stations, through 2000. Was cited by the Associated Press for "Best Short News Feature" and "Best Full Length Newscast" while at WHNZ.
David took his career to Australia in February 2000, where he continues to do radio work and occasional TV voice-overs.
A few of the larger Tampa stations, where David worked, include: WBVM, WEND, WHPT, WHNZ, WLFF, WWRM and WZTM.
