David Cowan is Chief reporter for STV Central's news programme, Scotland Today.
Before taking up the roll, he had worked for a number of Scottish news organisations - Radio Forth, Radio Tay, the West Lothian Courier, the Aberdeen Press and Journal, the Dundee Courier and the Dundee Evening Telegraph.
The Lockerbie trial has been David's biggest story to date since he has been part of the Scotland Today team - but it was a challenge he relished.
