Professor David Owain Maurice Charles is Colin Prestige Fellow and Professor of Philosophy and Director of Graduate Studies at Oriel College, Oxford. Prof. Charles is a CUF Lecturer in Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, Oxford University and Visiting Professor at University of California at Los Angeles and Rutgers' University, New Jersey.
He holds a Master's degree (M.A.), Bachelor's (B.Phil) and a doctorate (D.Phil.) His research interests lie in issues concerning meaning, definition and practical skill and interconnections between philosophy and psychiatry. He has written articles on Greek philosophy and on contemporary philosophy of mind and metaphysics.
