David Byas {born August 26, 1963 in Middledale, Kilham, East Riding of Yorkshire, England) is an English cricketer who played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club and then went on to play for Yorkshire's rivals Lancashire County Cricket Club.

He grew up as a farmer in Yorkshire who had a liking for cricket. He was a left-handed batsman who very occasionally bowled part-time right-arm medium pace. He played 283 first-class matches and scored 15082 runs with the bat at an average of 35.07, with 29 centuries and 83 fifties. He had a highest score of 213. He was appointed Yorkshire Captain at the start of the 1996 season following the resignation of Martyn Moxon. In 2001 he led the county to their first Championship for 33 years. He has since returned to Yorkshire as coach.
