Bowens attended St. Mary's Prep in Orchard Lake, Michigan and was a letterman in football, basketball, and track&field. In basketball, he won All-State honors.
[edit] Pro Career
He was originally selected with the 25th pick of the fifth round of the 1999 NFL Draft out of Western Illinois University by the Denver Broncos. He played with the Miami Dolphins from 2001 to 2006 and is now a free agent. He had a visit with the New York Jets in March 2007 but left without signing a contract.[1] On March 27, he agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Jets. The deal is reportedly worth more than $6 million, and Bowens could earn up to $8 million with escalators in the deal.
