David Berenstein
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
David Berenstein is a theoretical physicist and professor at University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. He received his Ph.D. from University of Texas, Austin in 1998 under the supervision of Willy Fischler, cofounder of the Matrix theory. Berenstein's research mainly concerns string theory. He made notable contributions in AdS/CFT conjecture, for example, the duality between strings on pp-wave spacetime and BMN operators in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, together with Juan Maldacena and Horatiu Nastase in 2002, and more recently on the matrix model of BPS states in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory since 2004.
