David Bennion

David Bennion was a Californian winemaker and one of the founders of Ridge Vineyards which place fifth at the Judgment of Paris wine tasting. He served as principal winemaker till the hiring of Paul Draper in 1969. Bennion was a research scientist at Stanford Research Institute with his Ridge co-founders, Hewitt Crane, Charles Rosen and Howard Zeidler, until he left in 1967 to work at the winery full time. [1]

Bennion died in an automobile accident on Golden Gate Bridge [2]
