David's Cookies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 1979 Chef David Liederman[1] (b 1949, New York, New York) began to create cookies that became the basis for the David’s Cookies line of desserts, baked goods, and cookie dough. Liederman’s first cookie shop was located in Manhattan, New York.
In the mid 1980's David's Cookies grew from a single store in Manhattan to over 250 cookie shops worldwide. In the late 1980's, David's Cookies was purchased by Fairfield Gourmet Foods, a New Jersey-based cookie manufacturing company. The David’s Cookies line was further expanded to include tarts and cakes when Fairfield Gourmet acquired Bittersweet Pastries.
Fairfield, NJ, is the current headquarters of David's Cookies' 60,000+ square ft. facility, 15 miles west of New York City. All products produced by David's Cookies are kosher dairy [2], and under the supervision of the Orthodox Union, unless otherwise specified.
