Dave Williams (baseball 1902)

David Owen Williams (February 7, 1881 - April 25, 1918) was a Major League Baseball pitcher during part of the 1902 season. The left-hander was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Williams, in relief, finished three games for the Boston Somersets between July 2 and August 3. He gave up 34 baserunners (22 hits, 11 walks, and 1 batter HBP) and 11 earned runs in 18.2 total innings.

Famous teammates of his on the American League club included Hall of Famers Cy Young and Jimmy Collins.

In Williams's short MLB career he had a 0-0 record with 7 strikeouts, and an ERA of 5.30.

He died at the age of 37 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
