Dave Nelson (#14) is currently the first base coach for the Milwaukee Brewers, but has been notified that his contract will not be extended for the 2007 season. Originally hired by manager Ned Yost, Nelson's primary focus is on base-running. He has developed many players, including current Chicago White Sox Left Fielder Scott Podsednik, Rickie Weeks, and many more.

In his playing career, Nelson played for the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, and the Washington Senators. As a player, he was a base-stealing threat as well, stealing 51 bases in 1972.

Nelson scored the last run ever for the Washington Senators (now the Texas Rangers) at RFK stadium.
