Dave Mount

Dave Mount, born David George Mount in Carshalton, Surrey, on 3 March 1947, died St Helier's Hospital, Carshalton, 2 December 2006 was the drummer in the 1970s glam rock band Mud

They achieved success predominantly in 1974 when Tiger Feet was the best selling single that year. They also achieved success with the song Lonely This Christmas which sold a million copies and topped the UK Singles Chart at Christmas 1974. All of their early hits on the RAK Records label were written by the songwriting partnership of Nicky Chinn & Mike Chapman.

They left RAK in 1975 to sign for Private Stock Records and gained further success with several other singles which charted, though they were less successful than in their RAK days.They had their last hit in 1976.

Mount left the music business in 1976 and he worked as a kitchen salesman before moving into insurance.
