Dave Marash

Dave Marash is an American television journalist. He is the Washington-based anchor of Al Jazeera English. He is a Jewish American. [1]

Marash came to ABC News from WCBS-TV in New York. Marash came to New York from New Brunswick, NJ station WCTC-AM (1450), where he hosted a nightly talk show, called "Dave Marash On Call." His last appearance was on ABC News' Nightline with Ted Koppel. He also anchored newscasts at WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. during the mid-1980s.

Before Nightline, Marash was host of ESPN's Baseball Tonight and NBC's GrandStand, which was either a National Football League pregame show or a sports anthology show, depending on the season. In the early years of the Fox television network, Marash hosted a magazine-style show of science and technology entitled Beyond Tomorrow.

He gained a measure of notoriety when he was the first newscaster in the New York area to appear on-air without the then-standard uniform of jacket and shirt, appearing only in his shirtsleeves.

Marash has also received Emmy Awards for his Nightline coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing and for his coverage of the explosion of TWA Flight 800.

He is a graduate of Williams College.
