Dave Hamelin is the vocalist and guitarist for Canadian rock band The Stills. Formerly the band's drummer, Hamelin made the move up from behind the kit after guitarist Greg Paquet left the band in 2005 citing creative differences. Dave is one of the band's principal songwriters and lyricists.

In an interview conducted with Nardwuar the Human Serviette in 2004, Dave threatens fellow Montreal musician Nicholas "Niel" Diamonds, formerly of The Unicorns and now of Islands: "Niel Diamond, I'm looking for you. I'm gonna fucking kick your ass." Diamonds and The Unicorns/Islands' Jamie Thompson have been very vocal about their distaste for The Stills and their musical roots. [1]
