Dave Freeman (writer)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dave Freeman (22 August 1922 - 28 March 2005) was a British film and television writer, working chiefly in comedy.

As well as writing sketches for comedians such as Tony Hancock and Arthur Askey, Freeman wrote screenplays for comedies including Jules Verne's Rocket to the Moon (1967) and Carry On Behind (1974). A film project with Alfred Hitchcock was halted by the director's death in 1980. He also co-wrote, with Greg Freeman, some episodes of the sitcom Terry and June, and was Benny Hill's co-writer and sometimes supporting player from the mid-1950s through the early 1960s.
