[edit] Iran-Arab relations
Hi bot. Please don't add Iran-Arab relations to individual country pages! You can add it to general Arab articles as Arab league. I also recommend that you change your username to not confuse contributors. Cheers -- Szvest 19:04, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- The Iran-Arab relations page contains historical, and current information on the foreign relations of Iran & all the Arab countries. Hence why it was added to the foreign relatins pages of all of those countries as a See Also link (where the countries had foreign relations pages). I think it should remain there in order to allow others to get a full picture. What do you think?
- I agree with regards to the username, i was browsing help for how to delete this account so i can create a new one. I tried sticking the delete flag on it, but my talk page got deleted instead... sigh.
-
- Hi again bot. The problem with adding a link to individual countries instead of general articles is that every country in the world has hundreds of relationships w/ other nations. We cannot add them all. If the article was called Iran-Algeria relations than that would be fine. I am telling you this because of my experience in Wikipedia and know that this is how it works. Once Iran-Arab relations discusses in depth every single country than that would be the time to mention it in see also as Iran-Arab relations/#Egypt so the reader would go directly to that section from the Egyptian article. I hope this is clear.
-
- Re your username, technically, there's no other way than using a new username. Cheers -- Szvest 19:46, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

- Hi again. Thanks for the insight- and you have an excellent point which I agree with in total. Until the article is patched up and expanded can I ask that you don't remove any of the links- I will go through the arab pages and change them to link to the country specific sections (which I will also attempt to add soon (time permiting)). I think having the link there might at the very least encourage people who know about the subject to contribute. Especially while the article itself is so 'unexpanded'.

- If your intention is to expand the article to the point of having single county sections than i have no objections in reverting my reverts. Go ahead. I also agree with you about publicity. I already added it to the Arab league and left the link in some other general articles. However, i advise you to go the opposite way, say, you keep linking the article to the see also while you are expanding. The reason is that maybe another administrator would do the same as i did and you'll keep wasting your time every once. It's up to you.
- Change your username asap before you get too many edits and there it will be a bit too late. Cheers -- Szvest 20:04, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Iranian Navy Exercise.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Iranian Navy Exercise.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Iranian Navy Exercise.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Iranian Navy Exercise.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. John Smith's 22:49, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
