Dating coach
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dating coaches offer their services to people - typically men - who wish to be more successful at meeting and attracting the opposite sex.
The fabric of modern Western life is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate, and increasingly people are experiencing difficulties in obtaining a satisfactory level of social competence necessary to successfully negotiate their interpersonal and romantic relationships. Dating coaches help people obtain more social and sexual success by drawing on their own knowledge of psychology, sociology, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), theories of persuasion, history, evolutionary biology, as well as body language, humour and common street smarts.
Program content varies from one coach to another, however the central focus of most programs is emphasis on confident and congruent communication of verbal and non-verbal messages. Coaches may also include complementary topics such as fashion advice or suggestions for recreational pursuits as part of their services.
Methods of delivery typically include electronic books, one-on-one coaching, small group seminars or weekend workshops. Workshops usually combine informal lectures with excursions through night-time hotspots, where the coaches demonstrate some effective ways of approaching members of the opposite sex and sparking chemistry. At first clients learn by observing. However, the learning slope is steep, and very quickly the clients find themselves initiating and participating in dialogue with desirable strangers.
This industry is particularly active in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
