Dasman Model School (DMS) is a private school in the State of Kuwait. The school was founded in 1996. The school offers a bilingual program for students in grades 1 to 12. DMS is one of only two schools in Kuwait that offer a biligual program.
Grades KG-5 are part of the Elementary division, 6-8 are part of the Middle School division, and 9-12 are part of the High School division.
DMS follows both an American curriculum and the Arabic curriculum published by the Kuwait Ministry of Education. In addition to the core subjects (English, Math, and Science) students are also offered specialist lessons in music, computer, swimming and PE.
Dasman has a fully self-contained Special Needs Division within the main school. Almost all of the students at this school are Kuwaiti citizens. All staff are fully qualified teachers in their field with a minimum of two years' experience. Most of the teachers are from the United States and Canada.
In 2004 DMS was accredited by both CIS and NEASC.
The DMS campus is one of the largest campuses among the international schools in Kuwait. DMS has a large swimming pool and its own grass soccer pitch. Due to the large size of its campus, the school has been divided into two zones: Dasman 1 (Elementary Department and Administrative Offices) and Dasman 2 (Middle/High School). The school has two gymnasiums, two auditoriums, two canteens, and one library. The school plans to build new buildings for its Middle/High school by the 2007/2008 academic year.
The school is situated behind the Kuwait Diabetes Hospital, in Dasman area, near the sea front.
