Dasavatharam (2007) is a mega-budget forthcoming Tamil film directed by K.S. Ravikumar. The film is set to star Kamal Haasan, Asin, Mallika Sherawat and Jayapradha. Kamal Haasan is set to play in 10 roles while Asin will play a double role. The search is on for the rest of the heroines in this film. Napolean, Vadivelu and Jayaram also star in a smaller roles. The film is being produced by Oscar V. Ravichandran while Crazy Mohan writes the dialogues for the film. The story for the film is being penned by Sujatha. The film's score and soundtrack will be composed by Himesh Reshammiya, who will be making his début in Tamil films. Shooting will finish in June and the film is set to release in August, 2007.

- Hollywood make-up artist Michael Westmore does the make-ups for Kamal Haasan in the film.
- Currently confirmed roles of Kamal Haasan in the film are a 130 year old man, an old spiritual woman, a beautiful young lady and a rural tourist guide named Udhar Mani.
- Dasavatharam is a term used in Hindu mythology to depict the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Kamal plays 10 characters in this film, most number of characters played by a single actor in a single film ever till date!
- The first three minutes of the film has been said to cost the producer 3 crores.[citation needed]
- This is expected to be one of the big films in the year 2007 and it is in high competition with S. Shankar's Sivaji: The Boss starring Rajinikanth who is a close friend of Kamalhassan.
- Shriya Saran, Meera Jasmine, Trisha Krishnan, Vidya Balan, Nayantara, Vasundhara Das, Nadiya, Nithya Das, Nagma, Swarnamalya and Sameera Reddy were approached for roles in this film.[citation needed]
- As it is an expensive production, it is expected to be dubbed into Telugu, Hindi and French.[citation needed]
