[edit] Jonadabs

Hi, you voted "keep" for this article and I was wondering what motivation or sources you found that warrant its keeping. As it stands the article is unsource conjecture about a seemingly non-notable concept mentioned in a few works that is not seen as a group (as the article portrays it). Have you found sources for this article? I am worried that the original author is just putting her opinion in the mix and not giving sources for what these people are or aren't. Please comment back and thanks. gren 05:43, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

I have no motivation for keeping it. Nor do I have sources that warrant its keeping. I think that I might follow the other user 'mysekurity' and go for a weak delete. If the author can produce a source I defidently think that the article should be kept. DarthVader 05:50, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] As Seen On TV

Thanks for supporting this article with a KEEP Darth. I don't know what the hell is wrong with all these North Americans slagging of The Magic Dudes. They are great. I also believe that a 12 part series on national television is noteworthy. For some reason they all seem to have got it into their heads that being on TV in Australia doesn't count for anything. To check out the total slagging I have been copping for doing an article on them, see The Magic Dudes and the associated VFD. Good to see at least one person apart from me thinks Australian TV shows are important. Do you like magic? MagicFan 14:13, 11 July 2005 (UTC)

I am not too interested in magic, however I think that shows like this that go on national television are noteworthy. You certainly do seem to get a lot of crap on those VfD discussions. I hope that you are lucky enough to succeed. DarthVader 14:03, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

Reading back through the crap on the VFD for these guys, it looks like a lot of what was written was bullshit. I just checked out their website at www.magicdudes.com and it definitely isn't a shop. The only thing you can buy there is the DVD of their TV show. It looks like the web site is more to do with who they are, what they are doing now and talking about their projects.

[edit] Constitution of Syria

Rmky87 here. I am the one who "blanked," er, moved the Constitution of Syria to Wikisource as 134.193.149.115 (there are so many things I can do logged off that I don't bother to log onto to that other computer). The instructions on the Move to Wikisource page say:

Simple process
(be logged in to Wikisource as well):
 1. Select and cut all text.
 2. Add and save the changes.
 3. Click on article link and paste text.
 4. Add from en to let people there know its a dump, and save the changes.

If you look at the right-hand side of this page, you will see

<div class="noprint" style="clear: right; border: solid #aaa 1px; margin: 0 0 1em 1em; font-size: 90%; background: #f9f9f9; width: 250px; padding: 4px; spacing: 0px; text-align: left; float: right;"> <div style="float: left;"></div> <div style="margin-left: 60px;">Wikisource has original text related to this article: <div style="margin-left: 10px;">PAGENAME</div> </div> </div>

which makes

Wikisource
Wikisource has original text related to this article:

on the right side of the page. I have put that back on the top of the page in place of the reverted move to Wikisource notice which is no longer needed.

Do I have your permission to turn the Constitution of Syria into a redirect to its present location at Wikisource? Seriously. I don't want to get one of those messages again. Rmky87

Yes you are completely right. I am so sorry. DarthVader 06:07, 23 July 2005 (UTC)

It's okay. I was once so tired that I did not an ice chest that came up to my shoulder, that was big and grey and was surrounded by nothing but wall and was directly in front of me. In my defence, I was too scared of screwing up to move before...What's-Her-Face said, "the one directly in front of you?" wondering what the hell was wrong with me.

[edit] user page vandal

I was tracking the edits of a vandal(of George Bush page) and he seems to have hit you. Contact admins Golbez or RedWolf24 if it happens again. They will block vandals in a heartbeat. Good day.Voice of All(MTG) 06:01, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out. I was aware of this vandal at the time. I reverted a page that it vandalised, and it got angry and wrote that stuff on my page. I then asked the admin Mindspillage to block the user, and this happened after that vandal continued to vandalise pages. DarthVader 06:13, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
Strange, I have reverted vandals many times and they have left my user stuff alone, thank heavens. Glad this one got blocked. Who has nothing better to do than vandalize an internet encyclopedia all day, which will just get reverted anyway? beats me....Voice of All(MTG) 07:24, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] CJ Elections

Two nominees for Concillor, User:Osbus and User:Xchrisblackx, have now voted for other nominees in the Councillor category (in the case of Osbus for himself), which very clearly breaches the electoral rules. Therefore I would suggest that all votes are nullifies of the two nominees, and that furthermore both nominees be disqualified for a very clear breach of electoral rules, which they are expressly told to be conversant in (in nice read text). --Wisden17 20:43, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
Stressbusters
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
 1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
 2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
 3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
 4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
 5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.

[edit] Community Justice Newsletter

Community Justice Newsletter

Welcome
Previously, various notices regarding Community Justice have gone out to our members; though this is the first actual newsletter. This issue will contain information regarding decisions made on the first meeting, our new council, and more...!

If you wish to unsubscribe to future newsletters, please add your name to Wikipedia:Community Justice/Do Not Spam.

New Council
Following our first elections, a new council has been elected.Computerjoe and Ian13 remain as chairman and chief executive (respectively); while Eddieh, Wiki alf and Xchrisblackx are replaced as councillors by Ilyanep, Osbus and Covington. The Giant Puffin and Pureblade remain as councillors.
Member Conduct
In the last meeting, the conduct of 4 members was discussed. Ethnopunk will be put on probation, supervised by Ian13, if he/she is incivil during this probation, he/she will be expelled from WP:CJ; the same was decided for Misza13 (voluntarily), and his probation will be supervised by Computerjoe. No action will be taken against Computerjoe.
Barnstar
The Civility Barnstar which our members have designed has been sent to Barnstar and award proposals. We'd appreciate your feedback!

Also, we are planning to make a Community Justice barnstar to give to hard-working CJ members. If you're a budding designer, consider trying to make it, then post your proposal to WT:CJ!

Name and logo change
There has been no consensus reached regarding changing our name and/or logo neither at WT:CJ nor at WT:CJ/M/1. While suggestions are still welcome, no action will be taken at this time.
Programs
We are going to try to create programs to more actively involve our members. If you have any ideas, please drop a line at WT:CJ. We will try to work with WP:ESP on one of these programs, at some point in the future.
Thanks!
Thank you for your time. If you need anything, feel free to comment at WT:CJ or come into our IRC channel [2].

Computerjoe wishes to extend his thanks to User:Robchurch, a non-member who assisted in making tracker redundant, as well as Misza13 for his continued support and to the whole of this and the previous council.

Request for Adminship
Thank you for supporting/objecting/tropicanising me in my request for Adminship.
