[edit] Doubles
Your bot keeps making doubles of the Animanga Wikiproject template. See Talk:A.I Revolution for example. Please stop and fix it. --SeizureDog 00:20, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Same here and here. --Εξαίρετος (msg) 07:22, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- The bot was doing a test on a few pages (only a few, in case of bugs, which were obviously found!), and I got the bug. A few others have messaged me with the bug, and it will be fixed before the next run of the bot. — Dark Shikari talk/contribs 02:14, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Assessing
Can the bot add {{WikiProject Anime and manga|class=}} instead of {{WikiProject Anime and manga}} please? --Squilibob 00:30, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- What's the difference? Could you explain? Thanks! — Dark Shikari talk/contribs 03:16, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- It would make it easier to go back and assess those articles because they wouldn't have to type the
|class=
part every time. I guess you could use {{WikiProject Anime and manga|class=Stub}} which would mean that no one would have to go back and assess that page as a Stub at all. --Squilibob 08:49, 4 September 2006 (UTC)- When I asked about this on the WikiProject page, they told me not to have the bot automatically assess the articles as stubs: it should just leave them unassessed. Good idea though: I'll replace the section in the code so it uses the template you suggested. — Dark Shikari talk/contribs 13:50, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Your bot could also fix errors that I have been discovering. When the assessment part of the template is not capitalised, class=b instead of class=B, class=stub instead of class=Stub, etc, the talk page is not added to the correct category. I think I have found all the incorrect instances however so this might be pointless. --Squilibob 05:38, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- That would probably not be hard at all to fix. It sounds like an ongoing problem as people rate articles, so I could easily include a find and replace. — Dark Shikari talk/contribs 09:57, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
When Dark Shikari Bot adds a template to a talk page it needs to add a break line after the template. Section headers aren't being displayed because of that. See [1], [2] and [3] --Squilibob 00:45, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

And its running. If you notice it doing anything wrong, post here and I will turn it off as soon as possible. Administrators can of course block it. — Dark Shikari talk/contribs 13:54, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Automated message to bot owners
As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:
Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.
Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 00:53, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
