[edit] Quotations

No other Star Wars related article that I've been able to find breaks up the text to include quotations. While it is interesting to read stylistically, it's not fitting for an encyclopedia article, which is, after all, what this is all about.

Also note that few SW articles actually contain quotation sections, and the ones that I found that do (Mace Windu, Nute Gunray, Boba Fett) put them at the end, as I have done here. Cheers --DarthBinky 15:58, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

DarthBinky, then I strongly disagree with those other articles, no offense intended to the people that formatted those articles that way. I thought that it would be nice to break up the sections like that. I've been looking around, and have just found that Wookieepedia does it like that to. By the way, have you read the comics?
Cheers!

Let's not start an edit war. I won't anti-do your edits.
Let's discuss this!

And what is wrong with those articles? You say you "strongly disagree"... why?

Look at articles that aren't Star Wars related, especially other film-related ones. They will be done similarly. Grab an encyclopedia and rifle through it for a minute. Do any of the articles in that encyclopedia have the article broken up with quotations like that? No, none of them are, because that is not how encyclopedia articles are written. Encyclopedia articles aren't meant to be "nice", they're meant to be informative, simple, and as objective as possible.

Wookiepedia is not a really good example because it's actually dedicated to Star Wars, and in my opinion, is more of an elaborate fan site than an actual encyclopedia (I'm not trying to decry the hard work that goes on there, but that's how I see it). Wikipedia is not, and is ideally meant to be a serious encyclopedia (you can debate whether or not it actually is, but the point is that that's the stated goal). Also, IIRC, Wookiepedia had the same article that was here, before I edited it, so that's not really helping your case. Edit: I went to the article you linked, and in that article it is stated that Wookieepedia uses a different policy regarding their style, notably that "in-universe" perspective is encouraged; Wikipedia's policy on fiction (WP:WAF) is that "out-of-universe" is preferred. So that would explain my earlier observation that Wookieepedia seems somehow less "serious" than Wikipedia- the tone is quite different.

No, I have not read these particular comics (I have read most of the rest though, and still have a pretty large collection going back to the mid1990's, as well as some of the old 1980's comics), that is why when I edited the article yesterday, I did not make major changes to the biographical content, and mainly made fixes to grammar, style and removed excessive wikifyings (you don't need to wikify a term every time it appears in the article). [edit] I am a billionaire

...And as important a task as detailing every minute aspect of every work of science fiction, anime, comic books and children's cartoons from the eighties is, I have decided to not donate ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS to Wikipedia because of crap like this.

I semiprotected the article because of vandalism and crap like above. It'll be lifted in a few days. Teke(talk) 16:36, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why'd you guys bone it up?

There was very relevant information on this page regarding the virginity and dorkdom of anyone who could possibly care about Darth Krait and his band of merry men. This is typical liberal media backdoor slander politicking and, sadly, it doesn't surprise me.

Darth Krait and his fleet of evil star-goblins are very disappointed in your attempts to cover the truth. Let the truth shine out from within you! It is a thing to be shared!24.239.35.204 01:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bk 101

Is Darth Krayt Jacen Solo

[edit] BK 101

I meant to say is Jacen Solo, Darth Krayt because Jacen has sith training and is becomeing one in the legacy of the force book series?

I would like to Know!----

And he is the only sith to rule since palpatine. And Darth Krayt's armor is Yuzzhan Vong Armor, so only jacen could grow his armor. ----

[edit] :-(

wow, i can't believe wikipedia commented that we shouldn't describe fiction like it's realistic...wtf? stupid? of course that's the way it should be done, how the hell does someone describe it like it's not, start the first sentence with, "a fictional character who lives in a story in which..." to make everything better? if it wasn't for the fact that the whole star wars series is going to shit anyway, i would be more pissed. fuck it, i'm going to go read a jim butcher novel, thanks for reading.
