[edit] Made some changes

I did a sort of a rewrite and made some formatting changes. Use the history to see what I changed.

One thing to note is the name of the game. I changed the name in the text from "Darkeden" to "DarkEden". The official site refers to it as "DarkEden", the files use "DarkEden". The in-game help uses DarkEden as well as "Dark Eden". The game is poorly translated, with many spelling errors, but I think "DarkEden" is the most common and official.

I would like to see this article become more of an article and less of an instruction manual. I may work on it some more. --ScarletSpiderDave 09:18, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I've added some screenshots from DE International and changed the order of external links by importance. If you dont mind. WeditorW 02:08, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rewrite needed

Added the weasel tag for the large amounts of "supposedly" (supposed by whom?), "this is/is not recommended" (by whom?), and "it is said" (who says it?). Remember to avoid the Passive voice.

I've also removed the link to "http://darkeden.mmorpgs.info/", as not only does it have little reference to DarkEden, but a community of such few members does not belong linked in a Wikipedia article.

Also, most of the information on 'builds' should be removed; remember that Wikipedia is not a game guide. I haven't done this as it would shrink the article down to stub size, but I urge anyone with knowledge of this game to give this article a major rewrite. ShakingSpirit 14:22, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A move prehaps

I think we should change the page name from "darkeden" to "darkeden international" because most of the information is about the International version and not the other versions, which could mislead people D33ath 08:52, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] LeetNetwork as an external link

WP:EL- Advertising and Conflicts of interest.

If the link is to a relevant and informative site that should otherwise be included, please consider mentioning it on the talk page and let neutral and independent Wikipedia editors decide whether to add it.

It may be deemed as not 'informative enough' because users may have trouble navigating through the site. As such, linking directly to the DarkEden part of the forum may help.

I will leave it from here to the rest of the editors if they feel any changes should be made. Mysterial 17:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't like it. It's a fanforum, so unless it's special in some way, WP:EL forbids it. Veinor (ヴエノル(talk)) 17:32, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

It shouldnt be there because its not within the guidelines D33ath 19:22, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I fail to see how this is in any way a conflict of interest - it's not a "relevant and informative site", none of us have any experience with the site in question, it fails the criteria at WP:EL, and the consensus is against adding it. When this debate first came up I backed down because I didn't want to start a dispute, but now it's obvious that others agree that the link is not notable, and should not be linked in this article. Mysterial, you're getting dangerously close to violating 3RR - you should discuss a change you don't agree with on the article's talk page, not simply revert it over and over. Thanks. ShakingSpirittalk 19:37, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

EDIT: Leetnetworks has now been blacklisted with the anti-spam bots; any attempt to add it to an article will be auto-reverted. ShakingSpirittalk 19:49, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm the site owner, clearly I'm in favor of it remaining in the links section, however I'm not the one that put it there. There is MUCH information all over the forum and it's quite easy to navigate with the use of the navigation panel on the left linking directly to Dark Eden information, such as skill builds, training guides, etc. It's not a fan site so much as a forum filled with information about the game. --GenDeathRaiser 21:33, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

The very first criteria WP:EL puts forth for links to be avoided is "Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article."
Skill builds, training guides, etc are not notable on wikipedia because Wikipedia is not a game guide - therefore the link is non-notable itself. Not to mention, as has already been stated time and time again, forums should not be linked. Period. ShakingSpirittalk 22:17, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Kthx, well like I said I didn't initially put it up there, as a matter of fact I've never done anything with it, so the comment on your talk page about me doing it to get free traffic is false. Win. --GenDeathRaiser 05:14, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't think D33ath was referring to you when he said "his forum" in any case ^_^ ShakingSpirittalk 07:26, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
I just assumed since it was under Leetnetworks on your talk page, oh well either way, thanks for the proper closure on this subject.--GenDeathRaiser 10:20, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Info on other versions

The article is lacking features from other versions. This is a general DarkEden article, not a solely dedicated DarkEden International.

Even so, it has too much emphasis on other areas rather than the gameplay,(ie History of hacks). Mysterial 06:18, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh you mean the other versions that arn't in English? And what features from other versions? D33ath 06:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Like the lairs, quest and the ouster race. And yes, though they are not in English, they still fall under the category of Darkeden and it's gameplay. Mysterial 07:53, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Wow, you seem to know alot about DarkEden, why don't YOU add something D33ath 06:59, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I did, but you removed it. I forgot about not writing in the passive voice, so you can rewrite it if you want to. Mysterial 16:32, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

That rubbish forum you kept adding? And that information on Ousters didn't even make any sense D33ath 06:04, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Not the forum, the ouster portion. I had no idea at that point in time that it did not fulfill the requirements of Wikipedia. Also, it's not that the the information on Ousters didn't make sense. It was written with the passive voice and in a style that a game guide would. If you like, you can go ahead and rewrite it. You seem to like rewriting every single line of DarkEden every now and then. Till then, it would be nice if you could accept some constructive criticism on how you're not good at managing this article. Mysterial 09:37, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Someone has to improve this article, because your not. Your information on Ousters read like it was written by a small child who got their first Dell for Christmas. D33ath 06:28, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Look, I was new to Wikipedia at that time. The rest of the entries was also written like that(check the revision for when ousters was first added). Of course, by common sense, I would write in whatever style the article already was to maintain the tone and consistency as throughout the rest of the article. Unfortunately, as the rest of the article was improved on and ultimately almost completely rewritten by you, the ouster entry remained stagnant for the 6-8 months while the rest was constantly improved on.

Obviously, it would look out of place because nobody bothered to edit it. Hell, use some brains first before replying. Do you honestly think anyone would write like this for something he put time and effort into? Rather than just going on and on about how lousy that entry is, shouldn't you do something about it, perhaps going back to do what you do best, rewriting what others write with alternative words?

Sure, even say for example, I did really screw up the entry, you're no better either. If the article were to go on and on all about International, and I do not comment on it, it would soon qualify for deletion because it's straying too far from the original title, DarkEden. Don't even get me started on you. And, in case you didn't know, International is longer existent as it has been officially closed down. This means that the International part should be compressed down to a section of the article and labelled as 'History of International server' or something similar.

Think about it. Mysterial 15:59, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

I have, and i've fixed the problem D33ath 07:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
