This is a congenital ear condition which often presents as a thickening on the helix at the junction of the upper and middle thirds. This acuminate nodule represents the point of the mammalian ear. The atavistic feature is called Darwin's tubercle, even though it was first described by Thomas Woolner, a British sculptor.{{{author}}}, {{{title}}}, [[{{{publisher}}}]], [[{{{date}}}]].
