Darren Levine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Darren Levine is a martial artist, entrepreneur, and prosecutor for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. He is best known for helping to popularize Krav Maga, the official hand-to-hand combat system of the Israel Defense Forces.

Levine is the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Instructor of Krav Maga Worldwide Enterprises, the Krav Maga National Training Center, and the Krav Maga Association of America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the civilian public and law enforcement agencies about Krav Maga. Levine holds a self-ranked 6th degree black belt in Krav Maga, making him one of the highest ranked Krav Maga belt holders in the world.

Some believe that the founder of Krav Maga, Imi Lichtenfeld, personally supported Levine's efforts to bring Krav Maga to the United States.

However, there is controversey surrounding Levine's training, teaching practices, and licensing/uses of the term "Krav Maga" [1][2]
