[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

[edit] Story 1

Actor: Manoj Pahwa. Director: Sajid Khan.

Pahwa is a film buff. He watches every new release in the night show on the first day itself. Just as he readies himself to visit a nearby theatre to catch the new release Darna Mana Hai, his mother cautions him against taking the route via the graveyard. It also happens to be Friday the 13th and Amavas ki raat (new moon). Pahwa dismisses his mother's plea since he doesn't believe in ghosts and goes through the graveyard, making fun of the dead and urinating on a tree in the cemetery. The movie is boring and ends with no incident, but on the way back, for some reason he's a little more nervous than usual. He hears strange noises and someone seems to be pursuing him. He reaches the cemetery gates and just as he peers back, he sees the haunting face of a witch, at which point he dies of cardiac failure.

PS in the end it turns out that the strange noises were only the sound of coins that were in his pocket and the witch turns out to be the poster of the new film DARNA ZAROORI HAI. This story is actually one not told by the old lady as the othe six are and the story is shown at the beginning of the film.

[edit] Story 2

Actors: Amitabh Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh. Director: Ram Gopal Varma.

An aged professor (Amitabh Bachchan) believes there's someone in his house. At times, the 'invisible person' rushes to the kitchen. Sometimes, he makes himself comfortable on the chair. Is the professor hallucinating? The professor tries to explain the situation to his student (Ritesh Deshmukh), who revolts and in fact advices him to seek psychiatric help. The 'invisible man' finally is Amitabh himself looking like a burnt man in the mirror reflection.

[edit] Story 3

Actors: Arjun Rampal, Bipasha Basu and Makrand Deshpande. Director: Prawal Raman.

One fateful night, a stranger (Arjun Rampal) knocks on the doors of a secluded bungalow. His car has had a breakdown, he needs a mechanic, he ought to make a phone call. The couple Varsha and Rahul (Bipasha Basu and Makrand Deshpande) living in this house are energetic and a bit eccentric. Both constantly try to scare Arjun. When Arjun states that he doesn't believe in ghosts and spirits, Makrand decides to call the spirits. There's a knock on the door and the spirit refuses to go back.

[edit] Story 4

Actors: Sunil Shetty, Sonali Kulkarni and Rajpal Yadav. Director: Vivek Shah.

A Maharashtrian couple (Sunil Shetty and Sonali Kulkarni) have an unexpected visitor in the form of a weird salesman (Rajpal Yadav). He is an insurance agent, who wants to sell the insurance policy to the couple. He shows them scenerios where its beneficial from them to take a policy and keeps on reminiding them about the accidents that may happen. In the melee that follows, Rajpal pulls the trigger of the pistol and bang. Rajpal dies and ironicaly he was the one who wanted to sell the insurance.

A leading film-maker, Karan Chopra (Anil Kapoor) wants to change lanes. After making a couple of family dramas, he is keen to make a horror film next. He decides to write the concluding portions of his script at his bungalow in Khandala. En route, he spots a lone lady (Mallika Sherawat) and offers to give her a lift till Khandala. When they reach the film-maker's bungalow, the lady tells him that she's a ghost who had died on the Mumbai-Pune highway while on her way to watch Karan's newest movie which was a love story. This scares the crap out of karan and he dies of a heart attack. Then only we realise that the lady is no ghost but an aspiring actress trying to impress karan

[edit] Story 6

Actors: Randeep Hooda, Zakir Hussain and Rasika Joshi. Director: J.D Chakravarthy.

On a rainy night, Ajay Doshi (Randeep Hooda) accidentally bumps into a woman. He is petrified. The next morning, when he opens his eyes, he finds himself in the police lock-up. He is accused of murdering a man. He claims he's innocent. The cop (Zakir Hussian) refuses to buy the story. The mother of the victim (Rasika Joshi) arrives at the police station . Ajay Doshi suddenly is possessed by the spirit of the woman whome he has bumped into earlier. The cop still refuses to believe the fact that Ajay Doshi is possessed . In a turn of events the spirit enters the Cop and now he is now possessed by the spirit of the woman. He draws a gun and kills the mother of the victim (Rasika Joshi). Finally the cop realises that it is actually a spirit and they bury the body of the mother of the victim (Rasika Joshi). and Ajay Doshi heads back to where he was going . (The woman is actaully murdered by the mother father and her husband ) Ajay Doshi had actually committed the murder when he was possessed .

[edit] Story 7

The old lady and five children. Director: Manish Gupta.

The seventh story is the overarching story that contains the other six stories. While the old lady narrates the stories, the children make excuses to go to the bathroom or have a drink of water. When they return to the group they seem strange and aloof. The last boy doesn't seem scared and tells the old lady that there was nothing really scary about her stories. The old lady smiles eerily and tells him that the last story is the most scary, the one in which the lady is the ghost. The boy tries to run at the end when he discovers that he had been sitting alone all the time and all his friends are dead. He tries to open the main door but the handle comes off and eventually is killed by the old lady who is perhaps a witch or ghost.
