Dark Adventure (aka Devil World, not to be confused with the Nintendo video game of the same name) was a fantasy-themed, dimetric arcade game released by Konami in 1987.
Some releases of the game offer three playable characters: Labryna, Zorlock, and Condor; in other versions, only Labryna and Zorlock are available, and with different weapons. As in Atari Games' 1985 classic Gauntlet, player characters' health diminishes continuously, necessitating regular refills of food.
The game's other weapons and player-enhancing items include:
- Flamethrower
- Laser – a raygun
- Dynamite
- Magic power – boosts attack power
- Shield – temporarily reduces damage inflicted by enemies
- Speed-up – temporarily increases character's walking speed
[edit] Hardware
Dark Adventure employed five sound chips: Zilog Z80, Yamaha YM2151, Yamaha YM3012, UPD7759C, and a custom Konami integrated circuit; it's circuitary conforms to the JAMMA+ standard.
