Darius J. Pearce was born 23 February 1972, in the London. He was educated at Beaulieu Convent, FCJ Convent and De La Salle College. In 1997 he graduated from the University of Plymouth where he read politics and criminal justice. In 2000 he qualified as an accountant and currently has directorships in companies involved in online marketing, fulfillment and accountancy.
Spent much of his early life working as a contract consultant to 'blue chip' companies' offshore subsidiaries including Barclays Bank plc, Lloyds TSB plc, Royal Bank of Scotland plc, BNP Paribas, Standard Bank of South Africa. In 2000 undertook to operate product promotions for Hasbro Inc in Jersey and Guernsey.

First became politically active in 2005 and was one of the founding members of Progress Jersey, a charity and pressure group whose aims include to encourage electoral turnout and voter knowledge a group he currently serves as Treasurer. He is currently editor of Parish Matters, a quarterly newsletter produced by Progress Jersey for residents of the Parish of St Helier.
Elected at a regional level to the Municipality of the Parish of St Helier, Jersey in December 2005. And currently serves as Roads Inspector for the Roads Committee and as a member of the Constable's Accounts Committee
Ran, unsuccessfully, for the national government as a Deputy in St Helier district #3 in November 2005 achieving 25% (459) of the vote in that district.
[edit] Political Philosophy
On the left/right political scale he is considered central, on the authoritarian/liberal political scale he is considered strongly liberal.
As a believer in 'small government' his election campaigns consistently call for control of government expenditure and 'de-legislation' to ensure minimal expenditure and taxation but is committed to instituting 'fair' taxation through the introduction of variable rates of taxation for high earners in Jersey.
He is committed to liberal values and a supporter of advances in human rights and the 'enabling state' believing that support is best received from the family rather than the state.
[edit] Attributed Legislative Changes
He was also heavily involved in the scrutiny process regarding Jersey's tax changes including presenting the idea of a 'Business Premises Tax' which was adapted into the Blampied proposal.
In 2007, successfully led the campaign against the proposed 'disorderly conduct' law which was withdrawn amidst fears that it extended police powers too far.
