Daren King

Daren King is a contemporary English novelist who has written five novels, published by Abacus, Faber and Faber and Bloomsbury Publishing Plc. King was born in 1972 in Harlow, Essex. He studied Creative Studies at Bath Spa University College.

King has written three books of fiction for adults (Boxy an Star, Jim Giraffe and Tom Boler), one children's fiction book (Mouse Noses on Toast) and one book of cartoons for children - (Smally the Mouse: Smally's Party). He has also been published in All Hail the New Puritans, a collection of stories edited by Nicholas Blincoe and Matt Thorne.

Boxy an Star was shortlisted for The Guardian First Book Award and placed on the final top ten for the Booker Prize.
