Daphne Major

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daphne Major is an island part of the archipelago Colon, commonly known as the Galapagos Islands. This particular island was the location of the intense study of Darwin's Finches conducted by biologists Peter and Rosemary Grant over a period of 20 years. It is just North of the island of Santa Cruz. Their intensive studies mainly involved the behaviour and life cycles of finches, and the data collected greatly supports Darwin's theory of evolution.
