Thank you for the welcome :)

Sorry to say I have already messed up - I have posted a page entitled SEPA in error and I am not sure if I have done the deletion bit correctly.

Also I added a sentence (in parentheses) about Lawburrows in the anti-social behaviour order page that someone has quite misunderstood. I posted a note in the 'talk' page of the article - is that enough?

Gosh, there's a lot to learn! fenton Now signed in properly thanks again!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Good luck!

P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).

[edit] Hi....!

Thank you for your hello on my talk page!

I think you'll find that the Jewish Wikipedians Of Famous Descent category won't last very long... Besides, us Jews are so inbred and have so many people we call famous that you might as well just rename the Jewish Wikipedians category. How you manage to be an Israeli wikipedian, also in wisconsin, new york and arizona, I also don't know.

Still, welcome! Have you used the Hebrew Wikipedia?

Anyway, if you have any issues later in Wikipedia, feel free to drop me a line. jnothman talk 16:52, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

ואפילו לא חשבתי לכתוב בעברית, אבל גם זה אפשר....

[edit] BBYO?

I went to he:BBYO to discover it had been speedy-deleted with the comment "זבל לא ברור" what here we call patent nonsense. At least in English Wikipedia, it takes a fair bit to qualify for patent nonsense, so its deletion may not have been fair. If you think the article was not done justice, bring it up with the user who deleted it at he:שיחת_משתמש:A&D. Although the title was in English, I assume the article was in Hebrew! And according to its use on he:בני ברית, an English page title would probably be appropriate. Were you translating from the English BBYO at all? Anyway, it's a pity your first article there got deleted. Are you more comfortable writing in English, or in Hebrew anyway? jnothman [[User_talk:jnothman|talk]] 05:05, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

I suggest you don't start your career as a Wikipedian by writing equally rude responses to people who do things to you that you consider mean. They do not mean it to offend, and at this stage are acting very nicely about it (and you should probably reply at [:he:שיחת_משתמש:A&D#.D7.A2.D7.A8.D7.9A_.D7.A9.D7.A0.D7.9E.D7.97.D7.A7]) I don't know what you put on the page, but as long as it was in Hebrew and not copied from any source or web site directly (and therefore a breach of copyright), it probably shouldn't have been Speedy-deleted. jnothman talk 22:50, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi Daniel and welcome: Please see the Vote for Deletion (vfd) for Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 December 4#Category:Cities with significant Arab Israeli populations. Thank you. IZAK 12:55, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Jewish culture

Hi Daniel Hoz, I was wondering whether you were interested in joining and developing a new WikiProject. While the more-established WikiProject Judaism focuses on relgious aspects of Judaism, this project intends to look at Jewish literature, music, theater, language and history, among other aspects of culture. If you are interested in helping to edit and review these articles, please join! jnothman talk 06:07, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Transportation in NYC

Hello Daniel - I notice you're a member of WikiProject New York City. Have a look at the Transportation in New York City sub article. It tells a fascinating story and it's been nominated to be a US Collaboration of the Week after lots of work over the last few weeks. Check it out and if you like it, please vote for it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:USCOTW We need all the votes we can get! Wv235 04:19, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Beautifulcampsunsetbydocks.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Beautifulcampsunsetbydocks.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

It comes out in terms that have little or no meaning to me... Please tell me what the page [1] says about PanDeism.... I will be most grateful!! //// Pacific PanDeist 01:22, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Will it help you that the German word is Pan Deismus? Or I guess you'd know that better... //// Pacific PanDeist 01:25, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Canadian Parliament.JPG

Thank you for uploading Image:Canadian Parliament.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Butseriouslyfolks 20:16, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Camp Interlaken JCC

A tag has been placed on Camp Interlaken JCC, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

notability

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Proofreader J-Man 00:05, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
