[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Aoun.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Aoun.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Charles E. Young
Hi, I see you have created a new stub for the Chuck Young article. I have however replaced the copyvio notice. This is because the article is already listed for deletion due to its original copyvio status, and any work that you have done, and any other editor contributes, will be lost when the article is deleted on June 22 2006. The procedure for creating a new article to replace the old one is to follow the link to a temporary sub-page (linked from the copyvio notice.) An administrator will then move your new article into place once the copyright status of the original has been resolved. Indicate that you have created the temp article on the original, copyvio'd article Talk page. Thanks Devious Viper 07:54, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- It was lazy of me not to have done this for you. So I have. The new temp article, as laid out by you, has been created :-) Devious Viper 13:03, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Country survey for Wikipedia:WikiProject Armenia
Which country do you live in specifically (I'm doing this so I can include a flag next to your name on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Armenia participation list). -- Clevelander 20:07, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- USA, as indicated on my main page. Good idea; I'll add it now. --DanielNuyu 21:54, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Accent i
If it's OK with you, I'll play around with that accent and see what it takes to get the section to show on my browser: if I mess anything up, please revert :-) Sandy 23:01, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- That's fine; go for it. --DanielNuyu 23:06, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Here's what I found: no matter how I enter the í, the only way it will show in the Table of Contents is if I put a space between the í and the apostrophe. It seems to me that IE6 is choking on an í followed by an apostrophe in a heading. At any rate, per WP:MOS, you shouldn't repeat his name in the heading anyway, so I deleted it. If you disagree, please revert. While I was in there, I saw a comment disputing something about Jewish lineage? You might need to look at that. Let's get this up to FA: I love Dalí :-) Sandy 23:08, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm that's strange; I tried it with Firefox and IE6 and it seemed to be working just fine. Yes, I'd definitely like to see it FA too, and I think it's easily within reach. I'll be back in a little while; I'm collecting some more refs, and will look at the dispute. --DanielNuyu 23:11, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Daniel, just a note: you shouldn't strike other people's comments on FAC. Wait for them to strike their own comments. I can't get back to the edit history on the FAC to see if I struck them or you struck them, but I'm pretty sure I didn't. The í is still giving me problems: I can't get directly to your FAC entry <sigh> ... Sandy 15:27, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Backgammon
Thanks for your attention to the backgammon article. It's nice to have some fresh eyes examine the text! —ptk✰fgs 06:10, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ptkfgs: Definitely! I'd love to see this article be as good as it possibly can be. --DanielNuyu 06:12, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your appreciation (and subheadings)! Somoza 08:40, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Congratulations
Just wanted to congratulate you on Salvador Dali reaching FA status. It took a while, but it got there. Ryu Kaze 13:01, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Armeniapedia...
It's not all clear yet, seems like nothing has been lost permanently, but how long it will take to get things just right is not clear either... --RaffiKojian 09:41, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Bust_AttalusI.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bust_AttalusI.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Garry kasparov.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Garry kasparov.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jkelly 17:47, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:AlbertCarnesale.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:AlbertCarnesale.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECU≈talk 01:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Uclogotype.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Uclogotype.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dashley.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dashley.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Thank you. Tom (talk - email) 22:33, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
