[edit] Bouvet Island

You've lost me... what the heck is "facility 3 of 6"?? It isn't explained in the TV series' article either. Frankly said, I believe this stuff belongs into the series' article, where readers maybe have a clue what this is all about. To me, it's just gobbledigook. Also, "currently, there is much speculation" is bad style. First, it'll be outdated pretty soon, so drop the "currently" and state when instead, and second, among whom, and third, who says so? Lupo 21:05, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

You wrote: "Hey, it's not my fault you don't watch season 2!" — I don't watch at all; I don't have a TV. That's certainly not your fault. But it is your fault if you write cryptic, only tangentially relevant stuff that only an insider can understand. Better write in such a way that even people who haven't seen that series can make some sense of it, and if you find that this means explaining quite a bit of the series, then over to the series' article it goes! [edit] KC

Welcome to the Kindness Campaign! You're right, it does always help to be kind. I wonder if that could be written into Wikipedia Policy?

I cleaned up your userpage a bit. hope you don't mind. I was thinking of splitting your userboxes into two columns and putting 'Pic ot the Day' above or below them, but you had them organized so nicely that I didn't want to mess with them, so I just shortened the pic to POTD to get it out of the way of them. [edit] Hurricane Delta and your RFD nomination

Greetings.

I was closing out the latest batch of closeable RFD nominations when I ran across your nomination for Hurricane Delta.

Please note that if you wish to turn an existing redirect into a fully fleshed-out article, you are welcome to do so. No admin action is required. Just edit the redirect and transform it into an article, and there you are.

All the best.

[edit] WP:AIV

Hi Dan,

I've blocked the two you listed. When using the vandal template you don't need to put the angle brackets in, in fact putting them in generates the wrong output, so you should have been using something like {{vandal|62.254.173.98}}. Thanks --pgk(talk) 12:08, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes. I realised after I did it (and subsequently fixed it! Thanks for putting the blocks on! --Dan Atkinson 12:09, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] You warned me because... ?

I just got a note from you, What edit of mine did you revert? I've been on #wikipedia-en-vandalism all morning... feel free to delte the warning and my reply on my talk page if you feel it's wrong. 65.13.3.52 16:13, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Warning was given incorrectly to the wrong person. Please accept my apologies. --Dan (Talk)|@ 16:20, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
It's ok, I was having a laugh at it... On the chan I was comparing an account full of rv's to karma whoring =D 65.13.3.52 16:21, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] HL2 Aftermath

Some people do get it when I asked them to refer to the article and learn something they probably don't know a great deal about [1], yet some people just revert without explaination. I probably shouldn't have used that kind of language but having such "noobs" who would rather not spend the time learning really annoys me. BlueShirts 00:46, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Language of God

Does God speak English? Does God speak, even? At most, I always thought God was that still, small voice within (which isn't exactly speaking, of course, although that isn't to say one doesn't hear it all that same; oddly God on that theory I suppose sounds a lot like me to me). I guess that means you speak English as well as I do then. I don't suppose burning bushes speak either. I know the Hebrew Bible has God chattering away with Abraham and Sarah, and lots of laughing besides, in between directions to kill children on mountain tops, but that always struck me as unlikey. And very un-English (and perhaps un-Anglophone). Blondlieut 22:46, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

You say that speak English in a God-like way. Your words, not mine. Hence I ask. It's your user-box, not mine. It's an odd thing, comparing one's self to something that doesn't exist. Blondlieut 18:57, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Venezuela

Good day.

I'm looking forward to create the Wikipedia:WikiProject Venezuela. I had the idea of creating it when I first made the portal. The project will have the main objective of centrating efforts into a more complete information and a higher quality of the articles in Wikipedia, other media in the sister projects, and the portal itself.

However, the rules say that I should have at least five to ten members willing to integrate and contribute to the wikiproject. So if some of you guys want to join in, then leave me a message, or in this page. I will be back in a few days to see how things are going on.

The motif of my adress is to invite you to join into the list o interested in order to improve the qualiy standars of articles relating to Venezuela and its history, subdivisions, culture, etc. If you are interested, go toWikipedia:Wikiproject/List_of_proposed_projects#Venezuela and list yourself.

Thanks.

[edit] Football Manager Article Edit

I moved www.sortitoutsi.net to the top of the page because it is quite frankly the best website for the game with the most downloads and what not. I consider myself neutral with all of the different fansites and find that it is the best English language one. I was not "bumping" it to get more hits or whatever. If I go to a page about a game on Wikipedia and look at links to fansites the first site that I visit is usually at the top of the list, generally the best site would be at the top of the list and so it would be logical in my view that www.sortitoutsi.net should be top of the list.

Hope you understand that and my edit and if you don't mind I will change it back. Thanks, JJ

[edit] Edit to Hypnofetishism

Regarding your edit to hypnofetishism, you wound up deleting nearly half the article. I assumed that your intention was to redact external links to commercial websites to prevent self-promotion, and that the end result was merely a mistake in editing. I'm not taking a position on what I presumed to be your intention one way or the other. Nevertheless, I reverted the article and started a topic on the article's discussion page regarding the issue. Some of the external links deserve keeping, while others may not. Tommythegun 13:29 30 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:15, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Glad to meet you to

Who made you the judge of worthy edits!? Sorry king dan, for offending you regal absolute authority of the FM2006 article. I added it in my infinite stupidity as in my ignorance of your authoritarian powers, thought it served as a useful note to anyone who clicks the link and wonders why the fuck its not working. Whats the point in adding injuries to wikipedia if people will just get better, whats the point of adding buildings to wikipedia if they'll just get knocked down, whats the point of adding smart alicky comments to my talk page, when all thats going to happen is I'll think you are obnoxius and inconsiderate. Hacking is a bit more serious than server overloads to be honest. So if you have something stupid and poorly thought through to say, keep it to your edit summaries, I don't need to hear it. Thank you in advance for not speaking to me again. Philc TECI 18:17, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
