Hi, my name is Daniel and I normally live in country Western Australia. I just finished high school and am now going to uni in the city. I hope to be able to help Wikipedia wherever I can - I lurked for a while and read all the policies like WP:OR and WP:NPOV so I hope I can keep it a bit honest!!
If you want to talk to me just post on my discussion page.
[edit] A short essay
I am against prejudice of any kind as it holds humanity back from cooperating to achieve greatness. If you say someone is less than you because they're different to you, that means that you can't learn from their knowledge and thoughts and ideas. I will listen to any person and what they've got to say even if I think they are off their tree, because there might just be something worth while in there that I haven't considered. And if I don't understand them because they have a different background, well that just gives me an excuse to learn more so I can at least try to understand.
Think about this, if someone says something that you disagree with, then doesn't that make you more aware of what you believe? Because to disagree you have to hold an opposing or different point of view and you may not have known you had particularly strong beliefs on that area before. so you've gained something.
I am a member of the Young Nationals because I decided I wanted to stand up for what I believe in and I think everybody should do that. If they don't have a party they can join, they can get their mates together and start a new one, it only costs $1 each in Australia to do that. I could not imagine living in a society where my views could put me in jail not bcause of a genuine reason but just because someone thinks I should not think that way.
