Daniel Brandon 'Danny' Shea (1921-1968) is the fictional Attorney General from 1960 to 1964 in the novels The Godfather Returns and The Godfathers Revenge.
Danny Shea, as he was affectionlly called by his family, grew up in a poor neighborhood in the Bronx. He always idolized his brother, Jimmy, and hung out with him frequently. His father was a bootlegger, and they became rich working with Vito Corleone. By the early 1950s, he became the assistant Attorney General in New York. He and his brother were both womanizers.
By 1956, his father made a deal with Tom Hagen to get his son, James, elected. Danny worked very hardly on his brothers campaign. By 1960, he was elected as Attorney General while his brother became president.
He became involved in key moments in American history, like the assassination of Fidel Castros bodyguard, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the hit on Carmine Marino, and the prosection of crime lords, such as Carlo Tramonti. It was his prosecution of Tramonti that created a milestone in American history.
It was in 1964 that his brother was assassinated and Danny realized whose fault it was. After that he stepped down as A.G. and ran for governer of New Jersey in 1966. He ran for president in 1968, but in a similar fashion was guned down by an assassin.
