Danny McCall

Danny McCall is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. Danny is the adoptive brother of Samantha "Sam" McCall and the son of Cody McCall and Evelyn Bass. Danny was initially played by actor Henri Lubati in 2004 and subsequently by David Greenman from 2005 to his death in 2006.

Danny suffers from an unidentified mental handicap. His sister Sam took the blame for a fire that killed his mother, who was apparently distant and emotionally abusive, but the fire was, in fact, accidentally set by Danny. Sam's boyfriend Jason Morgan arranged for Danny to attend a special school in Hawaii. Danny harbored resentment at being sent away and refused contact with Sam.
In October 2005, Jason and Sam hid out in Hawaii and Sam and Danny reconciled. In February 2006, Danny returned to Port Charles just in time for an enchephalitis epidemic. Sam quickly fell ill, and after caring for her in the hospital, so did Danny. An antedote was found, but there was only enough to be given to one person and the two candidates were Alexis Davis and Danny. Alexis was given the dose. The dying Danny told Sam how glad he was that their parents "chose her," leading Sam to the discovery that she and Danny were not biological siblings.
