Keough married Presley, the daughter of the singer Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley on 3 October 1988. They have two children, Danielle Riley (born 29 May 1989) and Benjamin Storm (born 21 October 1992) The couple divorced in 1994.

Currently, Keough is actively involved in home-schooling his children, and in ex-wife Presley's career. He has co-written songs with her, and is a guitar player in her band.
