Daniel Razón (October 11, 1967) known as Kaka, is a radio and television broadcast journalist from the Philippines. He currently hosts UN Television Channel 37 morning newsmagazine program, Pilipinas, Gising Ka Na ba? (Philippines, Awake Already?) and NBN's Hatol ng Bayan (Nation's Judgement).

[edit] Career

In radio stations like KYFM and YES! FM, Daniel started as disc jockey, going by the moniker "Dr. Clark". His foray in television began with the noontime newscast, Balita ala Una, where he anchored the news daily with Luella de Córdova.

Later, he moved to ABS-CBN’s DZMM where he got his by-name "Kaka" in the popular morning show, Gising Pilipinas. Razón also became host of Compañero, Compañera with the late Senator René Cayetano and the Filipino Channel’s (TFC) Kumusta Kabayan, the country’s first interactive Filipino talk show program in international television.

When he joined GMA Network in 2003 he was immediately assigned as one of the hosts of the morning show Unang Hirit; alternate anchor in Frontpage: Ulat ni Mel Tiangco, a primetime newscast and SAKSI, the late newscast of the said station.

With over 40 original songs and 3 albums tucked under his sleeves, some of his compositions are "Unang Pag-ibig" (First Love), "Dala kong Nakalimbag" and "Pangarap ng Puso" (My Heart's Wish).

Daniel Razón's official website won the People's Choice Awards during last 2004's 7th Philippine Web Awards [1].

[edit] Church affiliation

Daniel Razón is the present Vice-Presiding Minister of the Members Church of God International which evolved from the following:

In 1977, Eliseo Soriano registered a new group namely, Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Saligan ng Katotohanan, which later evolved to, Mga Kaanib sa Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Saligan ng Katotohanan sa Bansang Pilipinas, Inc. (1990) and Bayan ng Katotohanan (1993).

Most likely because of a lawsuit filed by Gugulan’s group with reference to the “name” of Soriano’s newly founded organization called, Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Saligan ng Katotohanan which is somewhat similar with the former’s group name “Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Suhay ng Katotohanan.”

This episode continues to cause confrontation between the two religious groups and on January 4, 2003, since the highest court of the land (the Philippine Supreme Court) ruled, once in for all, in favor of Gugulan's group, the name of Soriano's church was drastrically changed to: "Iglesia Ni YHWH at ni YHWSA HMSYH" (Church of YHWH and YHWSA HMSYH). And again, the name of the church was changed. On November 4, 2004, they prefer to be known as, Members Church of God International.

Daniel Razón co-founded and chairs the Brother Eli and Brother Daniel Foundation, a non-profit organization that help provide food, clothing and medical assistance to less-fortunate and financially-challenged Filipinos.
