Daniel Rajakoba

Daniel Rajakoba (born 21 October 1940[1]) is a Malagasy politician.

Born in Antonibe, Rajakoba studied teaching at Antananarivo University. He became a professor before being appointed Minister of Labour in 1972, a post he held until 1975. He preached on the radio every week during this period.[1]

In 1986, Rajakoba went to study theology and linguistics in Aix-en-Provence and Montpellier. He began preaching for the Malagasy Protestant Church of France before returning to Madagascar in 1999, where he was made a Pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar.[1]

Rajakoba stood as an independent candidate in the 2001 presidential election, receiving 2.0% of the votes. He stood again in 2006, but his share fell to 0.64%.[2]
