Daniel P. Friedman

Daniel P. Friedman is a professor of Computer Science at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where he is known for his distinctive tan fedora. His research focuses on programming languages, and he is a prominent author in the field. With David Wise, he authored an influential paper proposing futures for synchronization in concurrent programming languages. Friedman's books include the "Little" series: The Little LISPer, The Little MLer, The Little Schemer, and others. Additionally, he is an author of Essentials of Programming Languages and a more recent book entitled The Reasoned Schemer focusing on logic programming.
