In a June 2006 interview with Edge supposedly conducted as part of his publicity campaign for his starring role in The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, Letterle declared he had been imprisoned for six days and ordered to perform community service in conjunction with California's Department of Transportation. In the interview, Letterle called himself "a has been" and "out of the game, out of the loop." "I get auditions," he said, "but rarely I even try."
