Daniel B. Strickler

Lieut. Gen. Daniel Bursk Strickler (May 17, 1897 - 1992) was the Republican Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania from 1947 to 1951, under Governor James Duff.
Strickler was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was educated at Cornell Law School. He served in the Mexican Border Campaign in 1916. He was wounded in France in 1918. In World War II, Lieutenant General Strickler held a command in the 28th Infantry Division, landing at Omaha Beach, and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. He resigned as Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania to become commanding general of the 28th during the Korean Conflict.
